Get to Know me
My name is Gray. I have been gluten-free my entire life. Since I was a baby. When I was little, all I got was irritable for multiple days when exposed to gluten. But as an adult, I get awful stomach cramps and explosive diarrhea. I don't have a formal diagnosis for celiac, as to get a diagnosis, you have to have caused damage to your gut from eating gluten, and I'm not interested in eating enough gluten to show a positive on my test. Celiac runs on both sides of my family, as my mom was diagnosed with celiac in her early 50's and my great aunt on my dad's side was diagnosed in her 90's.

I am based in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia, so when I'm not traveling abroad or afar, I'll be exploring restaurants in my local area as well as within a day trip of me for those living in the area. I also explore gluten free conventions and try new gluten free food products as they are released.

I have always loved to solo travel and have found it always an adventure to find food I can eat, especially when exploring different countries and wanting to explore their cultural cuisine. I decided to help make this blog to help other celiacs learn ways to eat freely while traveling.

I personally also have IBS, which is triggered by peppers and caffeine, so I will not be reviewing any foods with caffeine or high amounts of peppers. I do sometimes take risks with peppers, as the food seems worth the pain, especially as it isn't causing intestinal damage like eating gluten does for me.

I am a queer (they/them) travel blogger who will always take the time to highlight queer-friendly spots to travel along the way, such as queer-friendly hostels, hotels, bars, and neighborhoods that have gluten-free options or are closely located to gluten-free restaurants.
